Intertwined through the week
At Intertwined, we begin the week on Sunday with our Peace Out(doors) gathering, but there are opportunities to stay in touch throughout the week.
One is our mailing list, which is low-traffic but will keep you informed about our in-person events. I usually send the coming week’s events on Saturday.
There’s also a weekly cadence on the Instagram account. I try to post something each day as follows:
Sunday — A reminder to check out the most recent reflection
Monday — #dailybreath post (~30 seconds of video to give you a mini sabbath)
Tuesday — Scripture passage for the week
Wednesday — World Wednesday (prayers for the countries featured by the World Council of Churches)
Thursday — Scripture Quick Dip (a quick interpretation of the week’s scripture passage)
Friday — Prayers for the week
Saturday — Coming up at Intertwined (schedule for the coming days)
All of the above posts also appear on the Facebook account, except for the #dailybreath and Scripture Quick Dip posts, which are reels and thus not share-able to Facebook.
If you’ve attended Peace Out(doors), you know it’s shorter than many Sunday faith community gatherings. One reason for this is because the weather in Central Pennsylvania isn’t always hospitable, and another is because it makes the gathering friendlier to children. This is accomplished in part by not making a sermon or message part of the gathering. That said, I record a reflection for each Peace Out(doors) gathering. It’s not delivered during the gathering, but goes online that morning around 8am, and you can check out the video on YouTube, the audio via podcast, or read it on Medium (this site). So figure out a rhythm that works for you; you can hear the message on the way to Peace Out(doors), on the way home, or whenever you think it will be most helpful.
There are also opportunities to join me for coffee during the week, and I hope to begin adding evening activities soon.
So if you’re looking for Intertwined to be more than a Sunday thing, the opportunity is there. Let me know how the weekly cadence is working for you as we continue to shape the future of our faith community together.
